After gracing us with Black Classical Music, one of the highlights on our 100 2023 album picks, British drummer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Yussef Dayes continues to explore the depth of jazz, soul, reggae, r&b, and Afro-Cuban jazz with new single titled “The Colour Purple”.

Featuring some well-known musicians (also part of the Yussef Dayes Experience) Rocco Palladino (bass), Malik Venna (saxophone), Alexander Bourt (congas/percussion), and Elijah Fox (keys), the song is a lush, endless stream of dynamic groove and calmness.
